SEO | Take care of your photoblog

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Hello,

As you all know, I’m new in this arena. But here and there I will put up some notes on different things. This one comes under the business, as I think SEO is long term investment and one of the most important to drive traffic to your site.

SEO. we all know how big this is. I’m not the best example of consistent blog writing, but getting in the swing now. Do some write ups and sort out images and it takes some time. From the beginning I knew that my blog will be more important then my main website. So now I will try to sort out blog so that it looks as good and clean as possible.

While I was researching on SEO ,a while back, I came across this blog post. I would strongly recommend you to have a look and read trough this. If you are already doing these steps to get your blog rolling and attract as many eyes as possible, then all cool, but for those who just jumping on the hoop this is essential.

Here they talk about things which needs to be sorted to get on the start line and keep it up from there. I think most important is to share info and be passionate about what you do, find that hour to sit down and make a few notes about topics.

Thank you for reading this. Hope this will be helpful for you.

Regards,

Armands

Listen, listen, roll back and listen again | New Media Photographer

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

I guess it’s time to mention a bit of business side of photography. Most of my things what i do within business I generally research a lot beforehand. I try to find out what works and what possibly doesn’t before I waste my time and money. I’m not here to invent new wheal, I’m here to learn and earn some living with what I do.

Marketing should be big part of your plan. At least it is in my business. I want to bring a bit of fresh air to my clients and raise above average photographer. I’m implementing quiet few new marketing and sale techniques. So far most of the things what i have done, works a treat and clients are happy and I’m fed %Edinburgh weddings, portrait and modeling photographer %Edinburgh wedding and portrait studio

I listen quiet few podcasts for photographers and New Media Photographer is one of them. If you are serious about your business, you will listen to these guys. I know you might say, I can’t be bothered to sit and listen for hours and hours. But in same time I can tell you that you can walk around in dark and keep thinking will this work? , will this fail? stop wondering listen here and most likely there will be somewhere an answer. Yes you will need to invest time, but it is you education time, you might miss movie evening here and there, but hey you might get another marketing trick in your bag and be slightly ahead of weekend shooters.

I’m still establishing my photography business in Edinburgh, but will tell you that I’m pretty confident in what I’m doing and it is just matter of the time when I will start to achieve my full time photographers target and start to earn enough to finally go for few weeks holiday and hopefully not to worry too much about shortage of clients. Need to be persistent and work hard and look after your existing clients. Most of my business is repeat and referral, but at least I’m happy on progress line.

I know I might sound like big head shouting around, but sometimes you need to be like that.

Here it is:

New Media Photographer

Rosh Sillars is a great man and I like to listen to round table conversations. Hear opinions on topics and also great tips from experienced photographers. I fully respect those guys for sharing this valuable info. They rock and I take my hat off.

Thank you Rosh for this great blog/podcast site.
