This portrait session was done a while back, and I kind of trying to catch up with past work and write also about more current portrait photography sessions. Alicia is friend of mine, and I asked her if she would be ok with one little photo session. She is quiet self conscious girl, so at the beginning was big NO. Then one day she came back to me and we decided to go out around Edinburgh and just do some portraits.
Her clothing was pretty dark and she wanted more of edgy portraits. Something what could reflect her personality. I knew that this is a little challenge coming up
I definitely had to approach this from relaxed and creative side.
Started off with just a simple back lit portrait. I was on higher angle and asked to cross her arms and lean on stones. A little cross process as after effect.
Next location was a little walk, but was previously scouted and I liked graffiti walls. I think that would describe her edgy side and possibility for me to play with colors.
Also used wide angle lens to capture unusual angles.
It is great to have a walk and see different places and possibilities. I’m big fan of walking around. You can stop and explore. So we ended up next to these little storage doors.
Had an idea to play with gels, but I needed a dark environment, so found a little dark car park. Just wanted to add some color and mood, darkness.
And as a finish of the day we did some more of simple head shot portraits.
The last image was her favorite. Did a half tone patter effect and it was actually last image of the session
As per usual, please leave a few words. I like to hear people feedback
Thanks.
Also if you like what you see, would be great of you could become a fan
