NEWBORN

Having welcomed over a thousand newborns to our studio, it’s truly heartwarming to reunite with families and their newest members.
Newborn sessions, usually photographed within the first 4 weeks, are entirely baby-led, allowing you to customize the type of portraits you desire. Grandparents and other family members, including dogs, are always welcome to join the session.

ROLLERS

If you missed capturing the newborn stage, the next milestone worth celebrating is when babies start rolling on their tummy and confidently holding their heads up.
Typically occurring around the 16-week mark, these sessions will emphasize back positions, include a few adorable tummy poses, and feature some heartwarming family portraits. It’s a perfect opportunity to create a beautiful collection of portraits documenting the early stages of your baby’s journey.

SITTERS

The sitter stage, which follows the newborn and rollers (when babies start rolling on their tummy around 14w) stages, typically occurs around the 6-month mark when babies start sitting unassisted.

It’s a delightful phase to capture as you witness the incredible growth and abundance of expressions.
This stage also provides the perfect opportunity for some playful fruit-tasting shots, adding a touch of fun to the session.

CAKE SMASH

This is undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable experiences for babies as we celebrate their 1st birthday!
The session is divided into three parts: updating baby/family photos, the exciting cake smash, and a delightful bubble bath afterwards.
Babies particularly love the bubble bath segment, creating adorable moments to capture.
This session provides a vast selection of portraits for you to cherish. You have the flexibility to schedule the session on their birthday or a few weeks prior, allowing parents to use the photos for actual invitations.
I recommend scheduling the cake smash before your baby starts walking for easier management.

What is a bump to baby photoshoot?

It is a combination of sessions throughout the first year of babies life. You can choose if you would like to do only maternity and newborn sessions or have whole year milestones photographed. You would then have maternity, newborn, sitter and cake smash sessions.
You can check each individual genre page too. It will give you more information about each photo session.

FAQ

If you’re considering maternity photography as your initial session, it’s ideal to book after your 12-week scan. If you’ve missed the opportunity for newborn photos but are eager to capture the rolling stage, we recommend booking as soon as possible.

Upon booking any of the packages you will pay for the package in full.
Missed or cancelled sessions will result in the loss of your session fee.
Your package fee is non-refundable as the service has a very limited availability per month.
(In the case of an unsuccessful pregnancy your package fee will be refunded in full).

A week after your photography experience, you will be invited back to the studio for your ordering appointment. This is when you will choose your complimentary portrait and any additional portraits you would like to purchase.
We are very clear on the packages and products we offer. You can find prices on our products and prices page. Please check the page.
Of course there is no obligation to purchase any photos after, but we know how much you will love these portraits. It will be very hard for you to leave them behind.

Hello everyone, thank you for coming along to check one more beautiful newborn photography gallery. I have photographed clients not only from Edinburgh area, but also from further afield. This time we will talk more on midlothian and fife areas.
In past I have noticed that those who live a bit further away from Edinburgh, like an hour or so, are always hesitant to come for the session. When organising the shoot we asked if we could bring our dog with us as we thought it would be nice to involve him. Armands was happy for him to be involved and up for the challenge – he seemed intrigued with how a cake smash with a baby and a dog would go!
We were a bit anxious before about bringing our dog however he was allowed to roam around the studio and make himself at home in between shots and other than a close call with the cake before the shoot started all went well.
The new born photos the year before showed us his relaxed style which we liked so it was an easy decision to go back. On the day of the shoot we debated about what outfits to bring and appreciated his advice and suggestions on what would work best for the photos we had in mind.

Children tend to get between 5 and 10 colds each year, and during the months from September to March they may appear to be full of cold all the time. Do you remember the ‘Freshers’ Flu’ of your university days? It turns out that young children’s colds are similarly in sync with the academic year. ‘The 35th week of the year (usually the last week of August) is when the common cold season starts in Scotland – you can set your clock by it,’ says Professor Turner. ‘Similarly there is a virus called RSV which gives everyone a nasty cold and infants a nasty infection which arrives the week before Christmas.’ Oh, joy.
