Edinburgh Dance Academy Ballet photo session

Edinburgh Dance Academy Ballet photo session

Hello everyone. Spring is coming and I’m finishing with lots of personal projects and ideas. Over the summer I will be doing few projects, but mainly concentrating on portraiture side and weddings. For long time I had an idea to try photographing ballet dancers. With a help of another project, I met Jenni form Edinburgh Dance Academy. We spoke about my ideas and decided to do a little ballet test photo session.  I wanted to create more like fine art ballet photography with mix of few head shots and poses.

Scottish Hillwalking photography session

Scottish Hillwalking photography session

Over few days weather was a bit tricky and I was praying for some decent light and no rain. Day couldn’t be better and started off really nicely with sunshine. First hill was most challenging and we all felt a bit out of breath. With little breaks, finally we managed to reach one of the peaks. Suddenly quiet a lot of mist came over and we had to change my initial route. Wasn’t sure if it would be good idea to walk down very steep slope. When I was walking on my own, it was very slippery already. Today with all mist and weather changing all the time, we decided not to risk and took a bit safer route.

When girls first asked me if I would do this for them, I wasn’t sure if this is for me. After a few emails back and forward decided to challenge myself and get some nice portraits for girls.

What to wear for Black and White family photos guide

In my studio increasing popularity is gaining black and white timeless portraits now. They are very simple and I would always do couple of these even if I would photograph mainly on the white. 90% of my clients would pick black and white portrait for their wall over the the high key white background portrait. I think traditional posed images will slowly start to come back and take over white background images eventually. I have even noticed that painted portraits are slowly emerging too. Not so much here in UK, but definitely in states.
