Hello everyone. Remember few month ago I did beautiful ballet photography project with Edinburgh Dance Academy? Students and parents kept asking if I would come back to academy to do similar style professional photos again.
Hello everyone. Spring is coming and I’m finishing with lots of personal projects and ideas. Over the summer I will be doing few projects, but mainly concentrating on portraiture side and weddings. For long time I had an idea to try photographing ballet dancers. With a help of another project, I met Jenni form Edinburgh Dance Academy. We spoke about my ideas and decided to do a little ballet test photo session. I wanted to create more like fine art ballet photography with mix of few head shots and poses.
I have a bigger project on my mind, but this was great warm up to see movements and what girls can do. I must say that I was impressed is the least what I can say. Very very very good jumps, holding posture and girls really tried really hard. I’m really pleased with results and looking forward to create more photography for Edinburgh Dance Academy. Hope you will love it too.
Here is a selection of photos we did that day.

Hello everyone. Today I will share with you a little bit different portrait photography session. Elisabeth and Mike contacted me to ask if during their Scottish vacation they could have some nice scenery hillwalking portraits done. First I was a bit puzzled as nobody ever has asked me this, so I had a little wonder and offered them a little walk in local Pentland Hills near Edinburgh. I used to walk there quiet often, but with recent business developments finding hard to get any free time for hillwalking. I knew it will be a little bit challenging not only for me, but also for my models 🙂 I haven’t been in hills for a while and did a test visit few days before. Two days after was the session and ‘ouch’ I was soar 🙂
Over few days weather was a bit tricky and I was praying for some decent light and no rain. Day couldn’t be better and started off really nicely with sunshine. First hill was most challenging and we all felt a bit out of breath. With little breaks, finally we managed to reach one of the peaks. Suddenly quiet a lot of mist came over and we had to change my initial route. Wasn’t sure if it would be good idea to walk down very steep slope. When I was walking on my own, it was very slippery already. Today with all mist and weather changing all the time, we decided not to risk and took a bit safer route.
Finally we finished the day with nice lunch in local B&B and continued our walk in Edinburgh. Light was going very fast so we had to move fairly quickly. Managed to show them few spots and wish we would have one more full day with them.
I think I should do sessions like this a bit more often. It is great to be active outdoors and also awesome opportunity to have nice photos done.
Here is the photos from the session and don’t forget to watch the video as well.

Hi guys. This time i have very special story for you. Around month ago I photographed Lee and Sharzad one of my favourite spots, on Gullane beach. They came for nice memorable Edinburgh couples photography session. Lee was about to deploy to Afghanistan and they decided to create romantic and fun portraits together. I love to photograph couples, there is always so much chemistry going on and even most shy guys, always open up and do so silly things for me. Love to find out more about their lives and build good relation ships. Who knows, we might meet in the future again, just maybe for different reasons.
Here is a little story Sharzad wrote for me about themselves.
To me it was kind of out of no where, this seriously strong attraction was growing and I had no control over it, I knew how much I could trust Lee already and we always had such good banter with each other that just seemed to get better. We started a relationship quietly at the beginning of this year and I can tell you 8 months later i have fallen hook line and sinker for him, I believe we were meant to become such good friends to help us have such a strong loyal relationship. Finally i know what it means to really love someone and show them loyalty and commitment and i hope i can show that to him each day while he is on his third tour of Afghanistan, he has been away for 3weeks now and i cant tell you hard it is to be away from him, however this will only make us stronger.

Today I will share a bit unusual story. As you know my main photography market is newborns and mums to be. Today I will share a Edinburgh hen party photography story . When girls first asked me if I would do this for them, I wasn’t sure if this is for me. After a few emails back and forward decided to challenge myself and get some nice portraits for girls.
This party was special as almost all girls were traveling in for the party, some came as far as Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Canada. Girls wanted some nice portraits of themselves and few group shots. I have worked a lot with girls in past and this seemed really nice opportunity to do more ladies portraiture.
So here are the images.[Read more…]
