I’m super proud of my workspace. It has taken years of tweaks and decisions to make more home feel studio rather like industrial space. A-Fotografy is a professional photography studio in Edinburgh which specialises in portrait and wedding photography.

It is 600 square ft open-plan studio is conveniently located in St Margaret’s House on London Road close to the city centre and has been custom-designed to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.

"Armands’ photography studio is a comfortable spacious south-facing room with dozens if not hundreds of props and blankets etc to use for sessions. On arrival we sat down and discussed what we wanted to get out of the session, different photo options and costs. Armands developed a clear plan for the session, based on our ideas and discussions on colours etc."

The photography studio

I’m confident that you’ll find our studio to be welcoming and homely. It’s a modern, custom-designed space which I have carefully planned and laid out with your comfort in mind.

You’ll notice when you visit the studio that I showcase a variety of photo products on the walls – this is so that you can view what’s available to purchase after your session. I believe that your portraits deserve more than to be left on a USB, hidden in a drawer. Which is why I encourage you to choose photo products, to transform your images into wall art. All my frames, canvases, and acrylics are professionally made to an exceptionally high standard and come with a guarantee.

“The whole way through Armands was completely calm and in control despite all the extra variables. He had a clear plan and vision for the images however was adaptable when Harris or the dogs decided they didn't agree with the plan. We all felt at ease throughout the session and we got all the images we hoped for.”

Your photography studio experience

Before your photoshoot

I encourage you to visit the studio before you book, so you know what to expect on the day and where to come. Then, when you book, I’ll give you information about what to expect, how long the session will last and what to bring with you.

On the day of your photoshoot

You’ll visit the A-Fotografy studio for your photoshoot (unless we have agreed on an on-location shoot instead).

On arrival, I’ll then spend some time getting to know you better, explaining how the session will be organised and answering any further questions you have at that point.

It’s really important that you feel 100% comfortable with me and feel that you can ask me anything. If anything does pop up, however small, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Your viewing and ordering appointment

You’ll also return to the studio for your viewing appointment a couple of weeks after your session. It’s then that you’ll make your image selections and choose the wall art and photo products that you would like to buy. On the walls of the studio you will find examples of the photo products I can organise for you. Clients often say that they find it really useful to see the product selection in person, since knowing what to buy and at what size can be tricky.

Delivery of your finished wall art

Once you’ve made your image selections, I’ll take care of everything. The finished artwork can be either delivered to your home or will be available to collect from the studio. All that you will need to do is hang your beautiful finished artwork on your walls and start enjoying your portraits!

“Armands definitely goes the extra mile when it comes to his work nothing is out his depth. When we went to see the photos at the studio we fell in love with all of them – be prepared to do the same! Armands helped us plan where our new photos would go in our house and designed the layout. We can’t wait for our products to arrive to put them up and show them off. Thanks so much for such a lovely memory”
