Fun cake smash photoshoot with a Dog
Dog Licks, Cake Crumbs, and Little Lewis’s Joyful Squeals
This was such a fun and memorable cake smash photography session with little Lewis and his furry best friend! When the parents mentioned they might bring their dog along, I was instantly excited—how adorable does that sound? At the same time, I had a few concerns about how the session would go with a curious pup and a cake involved. But the result? Pure magic. From the dog licking Lewis’s face to cake-covered giggles, it was an absolute delight to capture.
As always, we started with some lovely individual portraits of baby Lewis and captured a few fun family moments too. The cake smash was an absolute hit, everyone enjoyed it, and yes, even got to share a piece of the cake!
We’ve put together a little photo slideshow to highlight the session, and you’ll even spot a few sweet video clips of Lewis and his furry friend diving into the cake together.

Cake Smash Photography Experience Story
” We organised a cake smash photoshoot for our sons 1st birthday with A Fotografy and couldn’t have been happier with the end result. Armands took new born photos the year before and at the time mentioned about the cake smash and on seeing some examples of these we looked forward to taking our son to have them taken for his 1st birthday.
When organising the shoot we asked if we could bring our dog with us as we thought it would be nice to involve him. Armands was happy for him to be involved and up for the challenge – he seemed intrigued with how a cake smash with a baby and a dog would go!
We were a bit anxious before about bringing our dog however he was allowed to roam around the studio and make himself at home in between shots and other than a close call with the cake before the shoot started all went well.
The new born photos the year before showed us his relaxed style which we liked so it was an easy decision to go back. On the day of the shoot we debated about what outfits to bring and appreciated his advice and suggestions on what would work best for the photos we had in mind.
We weren’t sure in advance how our son would enjoy the session however he seemed to really enjoy it and it was taken at his pace. He was really good with our son and made him laugh at the right times. We got all the photos we wanted on the day and more. Overall we couldn’t recommend A Fotografy highly enough, the photos we now have are something we will treasure and happily show off.”
