The family gathering is the perfect opportunity to get beautiful professional family photos.

Hello everyone. It is pretty much winter here in Scotland and the weather is getting more and more unpredictable. Christmas time is approaching and families are remembering to do their professional family photos.

I offer a choice of a family photoshoot options.  Edinburgh photo studio sessions or outdoor family photos. You might ask if it is not too cold to do outdoor family portraits during wintertime.

I decided to share with you how your photography could look like at this time of year. It can be a bit more tricky to get the right weather, but for Allsopp family portraits it was a quiet good overcast day on the Gullane beach. Mum wanted some nice professional family portraits and beautiful individual portraits of her kids and families.

One of her sons live in Japan and this was one of those rare occasions that all family would be together.

Photoshoot turned out to be so much fun and running about, that we ever hardly noticed that this is chilly February :) Playing games and interacting is the key to get nice natural family portraits. You would think, you would do this only for kids, but trust me adults need as much encouragement and direction to get beautiful family photos.

This was a great combination of having individual family photos and photographing each couple individually.

Took nice large family portrait, beautiful individual portraits of kids. Really pleased with results and hope this will give you a good idea and what it’s like to be photographed outdoors during wintertime.

    It was perfect weather day. Beautiful overcast day and we had fantastic sunset images as well. We did some nice family photos and cool children photography. Really happy with images and can’t wait to show them to you. Loved photograph kids as well. Normally I get to see kids up 3 years age, but was really nice to have some fun with older kids. Wanted to make nice portrait for each of them so they can share it on their FB :) Of course mum and dad was not left out and we did some nice shots of them as well.

  • Family portraits on the beach Guide

    This was my third time when we met to do beautiful photos. First time I met family when I was photographing little Kara’ s newborn photographs. Year and and a bit after I met Kara’ s little sister and did some gorgeous portraits of her and both of them together and now we came together for full family session. It is fantastic to meet families over and over and see how their families are growing.
    Here you can see both girls. Chubby cheeks and those model lips :)

  • Natural family photography aka Day in Life portraits

    Throughout the day Armands was both imaginative & patient & made us all feel very much at ease. We went to our local park where Elicia loves to play and just did what she loves doing. This was very different to any photoshoot we’ve experienced or heard of before. Armands was able to create beautiful real life images that capture the spirit and essence of our family.
    I feel like we had a very special time as a family, focussing on Elicia. It really felt like a family day, not a photoshoot.
